TRUSTE ADDS PFIZER EXECUTIVE TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

San Francisco, CA – Mar. 28, 2005 – TRUSTe, the leading online privacy non-profit organization, today announced that it has elected Jean-Paul Hepp, director of privacy and corporate privacy officer for Pfizer, to its board of directors. Hepp will support TRUSTe as it provides guidance and enforcement to its members and consumers on emerging privacy issues in a variety of industries including health care.

Hepp joined Pfizer from Pharmacia Corporation in 2003 and became the company’s first corporate privacy officer. While at Pharmacia he established a corporate privacy office, one of the first such functions in the global pharmaceutical industry. Hepp’s extensive career in the pharmaceutical industry includes sales and marketing positions in the U.S. and Europe. Jean-Paul has been involved with TRUSTe since 2002 first with sealholder, Pharmacia and now with Pfizer.

“We are pleased to welcome Jean-Paul to our distinguished board of directors,” said Fran Maier, executive director of TRUSTe. “Jean-Paul has played a key role in addressing privacy issues across the pharmaceutical industry. His guidance will keep us ahead of the issues in healthcare data security and give us the depth of experience that is unavailable through any other means.”

This addition reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to building a broad-based network of privacy professionals. Traditionally, board members represent a variety of industries and backgrounds that further TRUSTe’s privacy initiatives as the organization continues its phase of growth. According to its charter, membership of the board must include national privacy advocates and TRUSTe seal holders.
