eBay and TRUSTe PARTNER TO IMPROVE SAFETY OF DOWNLOADABLE SOFTWARE TRUSTe’s Trusted Download Program to certify downloadable software from eBay and its developers SAN FRANCISCO & CHICAGO - (DevCon 2008) eBay Inc. (Nasdaq: EBAY; www.ebay.com) and TRUSTe today announced that they will partner to raise awareness of best practices surrounding downloadable software through the use of standards set forth by TRUSTe’s Trusted Download Program. Already a certified TRUSTe Web privacy seal holder, eBay will go further and adopt TRUSTe’s Trusted Download Program certification for downloadable applications and provide incentives for members of the eBay Developers Program to do the same. TRUSTe will offer members of the eBay Developers Program discounts to obtain Trusted Download Program certification.
