TRUSTe - Make Privacy Your Choice

KnowledgeNets Travel East

In 2004 years ago, TRUSTe and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) began organizing KnowledgeNet events in a handful of cities, and their success continues to spread. KnowledgeNet meetings give privacy professionals an opportunity to hear timely briefings on critical privacy topics and network with counterparts from other privacy-centric organizations. The events -- which can attract more than 50 participants -- are currently being held in 25 cities around the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Now they’re coming to the Asia-Pacific region as well. The 2006 Asia-Pacific KnowledgeNet tour travels to Sydney, Australia (May 8); Singapore (May 10); and Tokyo, Japan (May 12). Speakers in all three cities:

  • J. Trevor Hughes, executive director, International Association of Privacy Professionals
Topic: "The Emergence of the Global Privacy Profession"
  • Peter Cullen, chief privacy strategist, Microsoft
Topic: “Privacy and Data Governance: A Privacy Sector Perspective”
  • Sagi Leizrov, Ernst & Young
"Privacy and Data Governance Issues: Top Ten Global Challenges”
In Singapore, the trio will be joined by Ivan Png of the National University of Singapore and Lisa Watson of the Direct Marketing Association of Singapore.

Please join us for these free meetings, which are being sponsored by Ernst & Young, and feel free to invite colleagues who would be interested in participating as well. For more information about the Asia-Pacific KnowledgeNet events, visit the TRUSTe events page or contact Krystal Putman at kputman@truste.org.

Stateside, upcoming KnowledgeNets will be held in Chicago, Seattle, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Portland, Ore.
