Say goodbye to messy forms and faxes!

New applicants to TRUSTe’s Privacy Seal Program can now complete their application online. On July 7, 2005, TRUSTe launched the Certification Center, an online tool that guides users through the steps required to prepare a Web site for TRUSTe certification. The system replaces the manual application process, thereby reducing certification time, increasing visibility into the certification process, and improving overall service delivery. 

TRUSTe launched the Certification Center as a part of an ongoing effort to standardize and improve its certification process. Through the online system, a user can create a company profile, review and sign a license agreement, submit a self-assessment and seal application, file its Web site privacy statement for review, and pay the license fee. Users can designate multiple representatives from their company to help complete sections of the self-assessment and sign official documents. Applicants also have the ability to save their progress and return to their application at a later time.

TRUSTe developed and tested the Certification Center over the past nine months with the input of many applicants. As a result, the Certification Center offers a user-friendly design and functionalities that will accommodate different users’ needs.

The Certification Center is currently available to United States-based prospects interested in the Web Privacy Seal. Current TRUSTe sealholders can expect to begin renewing online in early 2006.
